Monthly workshops
In Simorre with Kai Schaper
1st Term:
The mobility of the back II
The central axis of our body allows for both stability and flexibility. Our way of life often emphasizes the static aspect, while the variety of movement possibilities tends to be overlooked. The aim of the Feldenkrais Method™ is to release us from the effects of limiting behaviour patterns. In this second series about the directions of movement of the spine, you will experience how to develop more mobility without having to rely on increased effort or mindless exercise.
2nd Term:
Moving from the middle
Both expansive and powerful movements require the use of the pelvis. It is the biggest bony structure of the human skeleton, and around it are found the strongest muscles. The pelvic area forms therefore our power centre and is the motor for many of our movements. In order to fulfil this task, the pelvis has to be able to move freely.
In this course we will explore the movement possibilities of the pelvis and experience the necessary cooperation with the rest of ourselves. It is only then that well-coordinated movement is possible.
3rd Term:
The articulations of the legs
Standing, kneeling and sitting; walking, running, hiking; sitting down, bending down or lying down – all these activities require the cooperation of all the joints of the leg. In this course you will be able to experience how more complete contact of the feet with the floor improves upright posture, how greater mobility of the legs gives more stability, and how better standing allows you to let go of tight and immovable parts of yourself.
